My Vote

i am not one to pass out things like this very easily. to me this is the bet album of 2007. let me say that again TO ME this is the best album of 2007. please do not contact me telling me how you think that i am totally wrong. music is personal. anyway this album was in a way an album of redemption for me. over the past few years i have not enjoyed much music that "christian" artists have put out and i will leave it at that for now.
i have rsb's first album and it was good but i want to tell you that since i got this album about two months ago there has not been a week that i have not listened to it. it is so refreshing. it is like robbie understood all of the frustrations that i felt with "christian" music.
this album is thought provoking, gospel explicit, creative material. robbie's gritty voice is accompanied by wonderful production and great mastering. i love how they have accomplished being all about the gospel with out being typical christian cheesy. this is "christian" music in today's translation.
just to highlight a few tracks: right off the bat Rise is a stirring anthem for us to get up and love, New day has one of the greatest lines i have heard in a long time; "and if you're like me you need hope, coffee, and melody"; Shine Your Light on Us is a song for everyone, it is a plea to the hurting and it soothes, and last but not least Beautiful, Scandalous Night for me is a masterpiece in the area of remade hymns.
i am just a guy who loves music. i listen to it alot and i listen to alot of different kinds. i am more eclectic than most but not that eclectic at all. this album has brought me the hope that the truth and beauty of the gospel are still out there in great music that is not labeled "worship". get this, and maybe i am wrong and you will not like it at all, but i love it and that is all that matters.
